Rock grinding (sometimes called rock milling or rock crushing) uses a heavy-duty drum attachment on a compact track loader (skid steer) to break down limestone outcrops, caliche layers, and embedded boulders in place — without blasting, without massive excavation, and without trucking material off-site. The drum grinds surface rock down to gravel or a coarse aggregate that can be left on-site as base material or graded into a finished surface.

In the Texas Hill Country, almost every property sits on top of Edwards limestone, Glen Rose, or Cretaceous-era caliche. That means anyone trying to build a pad, cut a driveway, set a fence post, or run a septic line eventually hits rock. Rock grinding and limestone grinding solve that problem without the cost, permitting complexity, and vibration risk of blasting.
