What Light Demolition Covers

Light demolition is the controlled tear-down of small to mid-size structures: sheds, barns, decks, pergolas, carports, animal pens, chicken coops, wood and chain-link fencing, concrete slabs, sidewalks, and small foundations. We bring the equipment (skid steers, excavators, dump trailers), drop the structure in a controlled sequence, and haul every piece off-site to an approved disposal facility — all in one project.

What makes this different from heavy commercial demolition: no implosions, no engineered drops on multi-story buildings, no specialty environmental abatement. What makes it different from DIY tear-downs: trained crew, proper insurance, and proper disposal — meaning you don't end up with a pile of rusted metal and rotting wood sitting in the yard for six months.

Benefits Over the Alternatives

Versus DIY: insured crews, faster timelines (a day versus weekends of work), and proper disposal of treated wood, sheet metal, and asbestos-free roofing. Versus general contractors: lower cost since this is our day-to-day work, not a sideline. Versus letting old structures sit: improves property value, removes wildfire fuel, and eliminates pest habitat.

Structure Types and Property Types We Handle

Sheds, barns, outbuildings, carports, lean-tos, pole barns, decks, pergolas, gazebos, animal pens, corrals, chicken coops, wood and chain-link fencing, concrete slabs, sidewalks, small foundations, storm-damaged structures. Residential, ranch, HOA, and small commercial sites.

What to Expect During the Project

On-site walkthrough, utility check, fixed project quote. Before demo: utilities disconnected, surrounding trees and structures protected. Demo proceeds in a controlled sequence; debris loaded into our dump trailers as it comes down; site cleaned and ready for the next phase. Most single-structure jobs finish in one day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Light Demolition — answers to the questions we hear most often.

How much does light demolition cost?
$2,600 per day, plus tax — one flat rate across our Hill Country territory. In typical dense, hilly, and rocky terrain, we clear about half an acre a day, and up to 3 acres per day with flatter terrain and light density brush. Every property is walked and quoted as a fixed price before we start — no hourly meter, no surprises.
Do you handle the utility disconnects?
Utility disconnects (electric, water, gas) must be done by the utility company or a licensed electrician/plumber before we demo. We'll tell you what needs to be disconnected during the walkthrough; you arrange the disconnects; we confirm before tear-down starts.
What about asbestos or lead paint?
We do not handle abatement. If a structure was built before 1980 and you suspect asbestos siding or lead paint, we'll recommend a licensed abatement contractor handle removal first. We then demo and haul off the remaining structure.
Can you demo concrete slabs?
Yes — small to medium slabs (driveways, sidewalks, sheds, small foundations) are routine. Heavy reinforced commercial slabs may require breaker work; we'll quote accordingly.
Do you handle storm-damaged structures?
Yes — see our storm cleanup page. We can demo and haul off structures damaged by hail, wind, or fallen trees, including documentation for insurance claims.
